Chris Schinnerer
Secretary of Energy & Environment
Chris Schinnerer most recently served as Deputy Secretary of Energy and Environment for the State of Oklahoma. Prior to this appointment, he was Vice President of Business Development at Lagoon Water Midstream, where he led corporate and business development efforts. Before joining Lagoon in 2019, Chris held leadership roles in marketing and strategic planning at Devon Energy, most recently directing natural gas marketing efforts for the Permian and Powder River Basins. Earlier in his career, he worked at Goldman Sachs supporting the Special Situations Group in New York, served on the National Security Council (Office of Asian Affairs) at the White House during the George W. Bush administration, and held positions in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
In 2025, Governor Stitt appointed Chris to the governing board of the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST). He also serves on an Industrial Advisory Board for the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree in Energy Finance and Policy from Columbia University.
